| The flood had other effects besides destroyed homes and businesses. The East Grand Forks Senior High School Band has a tradition of taking a band trip every three years. The students raise the money themselves for the trip. This year, they were scheduled to travel to Vancouver and Seattle Wash., but were having difficulty raising money because of the flood, which affected everyone in East Grand Forks. They almost had to cancel the trip, but the band received donations from individuals and foundations to make up the portion of the cost that could not be raised locally, and will be going on their trip after all. | |
